Yannick Nézet-Séguin has received his decoration for Companion of the Order of Canada by the Governor General of Canada.

A few days ago, Yannick Nézet-Séguin has received his decoration by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada. Named Companion of the Order of Canada in June 2012, Yannick could not attend the official Investiture Ceremony until this day. This ceremony was held at Rideau Hall (Ottawa); 49 Canadian people, including 16 Quebeckers, were honoured. The Order of Canada “pays tribute to Canadians who exemplify the highest qualities of citizenship and whose contributions enrich the life of their contemporaries.” The highest grade of the Order of Canada is the one of Companion which “recognizes national pre-eminence or international service or achievement.”
