Yannick leads his Philadelphia Orchestra and pianist Daniil Trifonov on a triumphant European tour
The Philadelphia Orchestra, accompanied by its Musical and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin since 2012, as well as virtuoso pianist Daniil Trifonov, carried out a triumphant European tour of ten concerts from October 27 to November 5, 2023. They were welcomed with great enthusiasm and full houses in some of the most prestigious halls in the world, such as the Philharmonie du Luxembourg, La Philharmonie de Paris, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Konzerthaus Baden Baden. A Rachmaninov specialist with whom he was linked many years until his death, the Orchestra was proud to present “all Rachmaninov” programs including numerous encores, as a celebration of the composer’s 150th birth anniversary. After brilliantly recording all the symphonies and concertos, they proudly brought the “Philadelphia Sound” to Europe, which recognized their virtuosity. “ The Philadelphia Orchestra should be included as a UNESCO world heritage site.” (Alain Lompech, Bachtrack, October 30, 2023)
